    Hi everyone!

    I have got my first provisional licence recently :)
    My husband is teaching me...but I have been told that having lessons with a professional really helps when going for driving test.

    i live in Drogheda and there are a number of learning to drive companies to choose from and book some lessons.

    I was wondering if there was anyone out there who could recommend a good driving instructor in Drogheda area for me?

    Many thanks in advance
    curley

    According to this website http://www.roadready.ie
    It's illegal for you to take a lesson with non-ADI approved instructors.

    Not sure if the same thing applies to your hubby...may only be required for paying for lessons?

    Learning to drive forum --->http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=909

    Or maybe a mod will move it for you.

    I'll send a PM with details of who my Sister in Law used as publishing details is frowned upon.

    Hi Curley,

    If you intend to sit your driving test, then you will need driving lessons from a professional instructor. All instructors must be ADI approved by the R.S.A.To qualify as an A.D.I ,all instructors must pass a 3 stage exam with the R.S.A. They are Theory test,Driving Test & Tutorial Test.

    My advice to you is to book 1 lesson with an A.D.I instructor and see how that lesson goes.Go with an independent instructor as opposed to a big driving school. In general they will work harder for you.

    If you are not happy with the lesson then change instructor. Make sure the instructor is reputable and is in the business a few years.

    P.S I work as an A.D.I instructor

    Thanks for moving it to the right place and thanks for the recommendations so far..!

    Forsaken1, I was not taking a 'lesson' as such with my husband - he is a qualified driver with more than 2 yrs license etc, sits next to me when I drive, hope that's not illegal! :D
