If I threaten to cancel my multiroom subscripton do you think that they will give it to me for E7.50 a month for the second year?

That's exactly what I'm going to do when mine runs out! I generally find Sky would rather has some revenue than none at all, just make sure you avoid the irish call centre, hold your nerve and when you get put through to the nice speaking person (they have nice people who just try and talk you out of cancelling), just say you can't afford to pay any more than last year and if it means loosing multiroom then so be it, good luck :D

If you are 3 weeks into a year's contract, good luck to you - you'll need it

I am getting multiroom, so new main box and existing box in another room.

Would the Sky eye thing you can get from Argos not be a better idea. It connects a tv in another room to your main box. Remote control works through it too.

I think you can cancel within 28 days and you only end up paying the installation charge, don't quote me on that though...

I did this recently, got it for 7.50 for the next year and also have the 20% discount. I got an Irish guy who basicaly knew exactly what I was doing and played along great.
