apologies if this is the wrong thread for this, i'd just like to know how one goes about making/writing a will. i'd like to do this sooner rather than later, but in all honesty i don't have a clue where to start

If you don't get a decent response, I'd suggest checking out www.askaboutmoney.com I'm redirecting this to legal. Not exactly investment advice.

You can't get legal advice. Do a thread search here, it's been dealt with before.

    Alternatively see a solicitor.

Solicitors charge very little for a will (approx 60-120 euro).

You can pick up a DIY will book in any bookshop, they come with a precendent will.

If you have only basic things to pass on then a simple will is easy to draft. If however you have kids, a spouse or partner and/or property then spend the money on a solicitor. The added advantage being you and your loved ones are covered by the solicitors insurances if anything goes wrong.
