Sky logic & Delays.....

... rang Sky this week to order Sky Multiroom.

We upgraded from Sky+ to HD a number of years back and have a spare Sky+ box that we don't use. Explained this to Sky, and they said it would be 189 to connect my existing box or 149 to connect a new box. Where is the logic in that.

Anyhow, we said, okay, install the new box and they took our order. 2 days later we get an email to say they wouldn't be able to connect for 3 months :eek:  wtf? Insane when there is a recession on.

Would I have better luck (logic) going through an alternative route i.e. a sky installer directly? Any opinions, ideas welcome. Am based in Sandyford.

I think you should try and independent installer in your area- I'm sure they'll charge you a lot less that €149 to hook up your old sky box. Certainly no harm in giving them a call to see what they can offer

Using an independant installer would be a faster method in my opinion but if your current sky + box in your possession is old then If it was me I would avail of a new one as the old one might be a version 1 or 2 which have much smaller hard-drives than the current models...you havent stated which one you have...
