Volvo S60 back lights for NCT

My Volvo S60 just failed the NCT. The guy said that the reflector and two bulbs in the back light shouldn’t be there. The car is completely original. It’s the same as the day it was built.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? I haven’t heard of it before.
What am I supposed to do about it? Change the whole light? Tape up the reflector?

I presume he means the marker lights on the side of the cluster?

Can't see how a reflector can be a problem, what colour is it?

have you any pics of the actual car? have you owned it from new?

I haven't had it from new. I bought it when it was a year old from an elderly man who I assumed wouldn't have done anything with it. It just looks like all the other S60s I've looked at.
The reflector is red. You can only see it when you look at the light from the side.
I said there was two bulbs in the back light that shouldn't be there. It's actually just one in each light. It's in the bottom right hand corner of the whole light assembly and can be seen from the back and the side.

nah, they're supposed to be there. go back and give out! they're called position lights.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'll ring them up tomorrow and make another appointment. There's not much else I can do.
