Hi, are u guys starting the CDM mature students, reason i ask because im sure the offers are not out yet? any ideas when the CAO offers come out? my gf has this course as her 1st choice so im hoping she gets it

Hey! Yeah i'm mature.....but only on paper!:cool:! Ah no! The mature's and deferrals get offered in the Early Round as far as I know! For the rest, Round Zero I think is out at 6 a.m. on cao on 31st of July, Round One is 17th August and Round Two is 28th of August! Hope this helps!

thanks, my gf actually did her lc in 2004 or 2005 i think, so shes not awaiting results, however im not sure shed be classed as mature student cos she is 22? i think im right in saying mature is 23+. so im presuming she wont get a round zero offer? although this is her 2nd college course(she left the 1st for whatever reason) and she did have to fill a written application. anyway, we will see come august 1st

Yes, Mature is 23+! Round Zero is the next round of offers if i'm not mistaken! So get her to check on the 31st of July! Best of Luck to her!

May well be a first year student here in september just have to wait for my CAO round to come up

Though does anyone know yet when exactly in september first year students will start? or is it too early yet to find out.

And also anyone have an idea of when the year finishes up in 2010

I'd guess 1st years start the 14th, last year it was the 11th. Finish up the last week in may.

I'd get your CAO application forms changed now and get out of their lads when yas still have the chance. I went to Blanch IT for three years and I have to say the place is one of the most lifeless and boring campuses I've seen.

I visited Maynooth, Galway, Carlow and Waterford campuses and all were about ten times better than Blanch. Blanch feels more like a secondary school than a college tbh and I'm not the only person who thought that.

I moved to Sligo for my final year and the difference was unbelievable. I'd recommend that somewhere with an actual college atmosphere is where you go and Blanch IT doesn't have that.

I know its not just the nightlife etc. that people go to college for but the atmosphere of the place has to be right IMO and Blanch wasn't.

I applied for BN013 ( information technology ) in the vacant places,anyone know when I find out if i made that?

Common entry Computer Engineering was available through the vacant courses as well.

hi using boyfriends login... i got CDM BN021, i'm 22 so didnt qualify for mature student but got it on my points thank god... just wondering any advice on what to expect? is it more practical than anything?
what are the lecture hours? 9am-6pm at all? and when will the course start would anyone know?
looking forward to starting

It was BN015 which allows you to specialise in Mechatronics or Computer Engineering in second year.

Maybe it was full but its still listed on the itb website.

Im doing Community and Social Development, new course for the year, should be interesting, I wonder when it will start. Im looking to go back to colege after dropping out of DIT last year, let's say Auctioneering isn't the best thing to do at the moment
