Ok forgive the stupid questions(there could be more than one), re the new iphone 3gs.
I'm currently with O2 and can buy the new iphone for 199 i think, but whats the big deal with getting it jailbroken, what advantage would that be to me as i'm happy enough to stay with o2 and at that price its not too expensive.
Everyone is talking about unlocking this and jailbreaking that, can someone explain to me what exactly it all means to me especially if i'm thinking of buying one.Cheers

It's explained in the sticky at the top of the forum.

You Jailbreak to install software not authorised by Apple. That's not as bad as it sounds, trust me.

You unlock to use it on a different network to O2.

Doesn't look like either of these are relevant to you if you want to stay with O2.

Good man Tom as i thought, why would so many peeps not want to be with o2 though, are they a bit of a horror story when it comes to the iphone?

The broadband coverage is patchy, but works most of the time.

No, I personally believe it is more to do with the 18 month contract. A lot of people want the freedom of choosing their own plan on whatever provider they want. Plus, up to recently, the cheapest tariff on O2 was €45 and didn't give you a whole lot for it. Thankfully, they have now rectified that and the deals are substantially better.

 I just bought an iPhone yesterday and had to take the 45e tariff. What better deal?
