    Hi all,
    Tomorrow I start my first ever job. its in a pretty big clothes shop. was just wondering what will happen to me come 9.00 tomorrow. will i be expected to know how to do things and how the shop works with little guidence or will i be run through the paces by the manager/ supervisor. im eager to impress as i know how luck i am to actualy have a job. i dont want to be asked by a customer , 'how much is this'? or 'can you help me with this' and not have a clue what to say/do. any help will be appreciated. tell me what first days in a retail outlet are like ect...

    Usually they'll run through a few things with you before you go down to the floor. Then put you with someone for the day in whatever section they are putting you in to get a hang on what it is you're meant to do.

    First of all congrats OP for getting your first job ever. Well done :)

    And dont worry. Nobody expects you to know everything on your first day. Im sure you are getting some training.

    Exactly, knowing where to find the information is the important thing.

    Best of luck with it, and don't worry if you feel exhausted after the first few days. It can be a bit of an information overload in a new job, so it can be tiring.
