North Bull Island OW Swims

I put this in the swimming section but i see its quiet over there unfortunately so hopefully its ok asking here?

I recently discovered while out on a cycle that the north bull island seems a decent swimming spot out by the pier. I couldn't find anything in relation to tides so decided I'd check it this morning and see how it was. Unfortunately it was waaaay out and too far out to make for a viable swim. Does anyone swim there regularly and if so how do you check the tide there? Is there a site I'm yet to find which has the details and how do i read it?

Thanks, I'm dying to find a good north side spot for some pre-work swims and the closer to the city the better.

    Hey,

If you follow the link below, it will give you the next weeks tide predictions for the bull wall. Usually best to go as close to high water as possible. I wouldn't bother if it's more then 2 hrs from that point either side.

Most people seem to go in at the ladies shelter and swim up to the last big steps toward the end and back down. Close to high tide it can be nice to swim out from ladies canging to a bhoy that would be straight out and to the right.

    Enjoy...

3Dtri and as far as I know Piranha swim here a lot. It's where the 3D aquathons used to be until last summer. I've been there 1& 1/2 hrs before high tide though & had to wait until it came in a bit more.
