    First car = 1 year
    second car = 1 year
Current car = 2 years so far

    10 months.
Hit a piece of concrete on the road that shouldnt have been there, lost control and folded the car nicely around a lamppost.
Just glad the car was big so i got out without a scratch. Car was totalled though.

Somehow i have always been under the impression that most people wreck their first car....

Had the Golf 2 days shy of ten months, got the Alfa in May of this year and I test drove a nice 320i BMW today, and if insurance goes to plan, I'll get it :).

    I have a problem :o

A 1.3 1994 three door honda civic. Kept it 2.5 years (the longest i've had any car). Done a deal in a part exchange when when trading (privately) to another '03 civic at the time cos the seller wanted a little run-around for the wife. The '94 model i traded died about two weeks later :o

8 months and sold it for a profit. 14 years and 7 cars later and I've never made a profit since!

6 years this 4th of July and the damn thing is unbreakable. Toyata Starlet. A real tough girl.

Not a cool car but gets me from A to B. I'm not materialistic and am happy to be debt free.

The only catch is space so an upgrade may be on the cards eventually. This is prob the best market to be looking.

6 months only, but I was gutted to have to change it. It was an '89 mini city in a lovely shade of blue with the white stripes and roof and all that, but it was an absolute money pit and completely unreliable.

yeah sorry, meant Mk4, post edited.

the only reason i had it for 2 days was because i took it as a trade in off the Evo 5. by taking the golf it meant the money i got for the evo was exactly what i paid for it, hence losing no money! it was mint with history loads of factory Ralliart extrat with 20k on the clock, sold it for 19k. i was looking at an X5 and got a great trade in off it and meant i actually gained on ti and said feck it, jusy go for it.

other than that there was nothing wrong with it, comfy, relatively quick although the standard 150bhp is very very underpowered imo.

Nice! That Kawasaki looks savage! I'm thinking along similar lines as in a CBR600;)

    About 8 hours.

Paid my Dad for it at 10pm one night, and wrote it off about 6am the next morning, after hitting black ice.
I'd been driving it for about 2 months before I paid him though, but that doesn't really count if we're talking ownership.

1997 Seat Ibiza back in 2002. Met Red, 15" Alloys, Big Exhaust, Tinted Windows(ripped off 3 days later, couldnt see a thing), Elec Sunroof.

It was a great first car except for the 998cc engine.

Had it just over a year. On the way to guys house to deliver car the gearbox started to make funny noises, the window window would come off in my hand, the elec sunroof would not move back(only up) and when I arrived the alarm would not arm. I made a chirp sound and took the cash.

Oh how things have changed over the years.

First car was a Merc 300TD estate, 1980, 'milan brown' got it in Germany in 1991 for about €800, had it resprayed 'signal red', sold it to a friends mother in France 6 months later on the condition that when she sells it I get first refusal. She still has it.:). Could sleep in the back of it with my then girlfriend, openend up a whole continent to us. Great memories.

1997 Civic, bought from adverts in March of 2006 with 73,000 miles on the clock. Just in the process of replacing it at the moment after it was written off for me last week. Had added 72,000 miles to the clock and she was still running great. Poor Gertie.
