Should they stay or should they go?

Ok so I have a TM G36c, Styer and MP5k.

Now I'm going to New Zealand for at least a year, I can't bring them with me because all AEGs need to be semi there, although there is no real power limit, so I'll buy when I get there, thats fine.

What I would like some advice on is if I should sell them before I go. I got two of them from asia at a great price and I'm worried that if I come back and have to buy again, because of the new law(I know it's not law yet) I may be forced to buy Irish at a much higher price.

So do you think I should hold on to them in case I come back and save a few bucks, or should I sell them and buy again if I do come back?

    Thanks!

You want to sell them? sell them...

    you dont? Dont...

If you are coming back, keep it, tbh, it will end up cheaper, especially with the new laws. However, you could always bring the NZ ones you get back... and drop the parts in to make them auto..? no need to rebuy :)

    Sell them...to me....for free.

I say leave them with a friend for a year.

Are you planning on coming back, or going to see how it goes?

If the latter, I'd say sell them if you need the money for adventuring with. A money in the hand is worth three AEGs in the bush. Maybe more. If you're coming back and\or aren't strapped, hang onto 'em if you've somewhere to store them.

How do they remove full-auto capability, anyway? That's something I've been wondering about. I mean, it's presumably harder to do semi-auto than full in an AEG.

As far as I know setting the aeg to semi and removing the selector switch is enough.

Still not sure on what to do, keep the suggestions coming!

    Thanks

Leave them with someone and pick them up when you come back. You'll likely regret selling them unless you're trying to scrape all the money you can for that trip (under the assumption it's not a working/paid trip).

Personally, I'd leave them with someone. No point in selling, then buying new ones of the same thing in 12 months.

They pin the selector plate so it cant shift to full auto( I lived there for 9 years) But the cops sometimes just wire the battery straight to the motor and say nah sorry thats full auto u cant have it!!
Mind u get a decent tm springer like the xm177 and whack a 150-160 spring in it..

Ya I think I'll get a nice springer sniper and pump it up quite high.

Just bear in mind if u put anything over a 130 into a springer it will literally explode on you so u need to wrap it up in gaffer tape..Just paint it afterwards like and its grand..

Ok your post just confused me, why would say a TM VSR-10 GSpec explode with a 130?

I think he meant a springer as in a plastic body springer. The cheapy toy types. TM do "high end" springer guns which can be upgraded but not very far. Putting an M130 into a VSR is perfectly fine.

Yeah I was on about a TM xm177 or m16 or the likes. U find most people in NZ use springers as they are legal and not as such a pain in the a**e to get clearance from NZ Police and Customs.. My main ones were VSR,Xm177 and Spas 12 and i loved them.. Ill post a pic later on show u my fab springer collection.. Makes such a difference playing out there without crazy spray and play although an aeg is always going to fun!!!!

I would say hang on to them unless you need the cash to fund your NZ trip. Assuming that is that you have a place to store them.

Check RSOV, there's AGM winchesters on there that might be of interest to you.

@ OP keep them, find someone you trust to mind them for you. If you do decide to settle over there then you can organise selling them, or sending them over from there, but if you don't then they'll be waiting for ya here when you get back.
