So who has shunned conventional forms of entertainment in favour of more collabotrative and "open source" comedy like 4chan and encyclopediadramatica?

They are both very funny but you always end up seeing pictures of dead people, squashed dogs or chinese people eating cats when you don't want to. Look at the Ireland article on ED.

4chan - cesspool of the internet. no time for it. inky does.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 645 ✭✭✭StopNotWorking

I used to go to /b/ until I grew up and realised its full of morons spamming memes and lowering themselves to the level of an ape. I go to /g/ and /v/ the odd time for help, ideas or recommendations on stuff. But /b/? It's a complete hole IMO.

And yes I done the whole anon is legion thing, the raids developed into myspace "hacks". They done some good stuff years ago back when 4chan wasn't as famous and the neckbeards actually let themselves be known by the general users.

Yawn. This website is responsible for the destruction of the Irish sense of humour. Honestly, people who are into this crap just throw out lines like 'epic fail is fail' and it gets really irritating, really crap, really annoying and really crap.

    It is humour without wit.

You should have just said "It's humour ||: wit| out :||"

For those of you don't get it. It's a music joke

This "Thanks from:" sure is revealing. Neither side is making their case particularly convincingly, preferring instead to resort to the mud-slinging and mindless behaviour which they confess to despise.

I'm sure there's some great satirical twist here that I'm missing, since the "non-corrupted" Irish sense of humour is clearly such a delicate and intelligent kind.

While quite obviously it has gone down hill in recent times, /b/ and 4chan have come out with some quite brilliant stuff. Cat macros (also know as (by retards) "lolcats") started on 4chan, and the now common usage of "win" and "fail", while not exclusive 4chan creations, were first used in their aquired meanings of "good" and "bad" by those who frequented 4chan, as well and newgrounds and other such sites.

I mean all the sh*t flows from /b/, thanks to a couple of trolls. You can see it in every other 4chan board. And also other chans which I'd rather not mention :D

Yes, 4chan launched some good "lulz" , but they wear thin. I wonder, are there people in Trinity who actually say things like "win" "fail" or even "desu" in an ordinary conversation? I know a few of my mates from DKIT are totally into that stuff. They don't hesitate talking like that in public spaces. I just find its a good way to cover up potentially obscene topics :D

My mate "so I herd you were in a slight fapping accident?"
me: " yes, I was indeed!!!"
    people behind me: Indifferent
    Outcome: WIN.

You won't be saying that when Anonymous hacks into your facebook account and destroys all your real-life relationships. In the past they've hacked into private flickr accounts to find naked photos of teenage girls which they've published online, driving the girls to suicide. They regularly skew online polls in their favor. They have an immense influence on the internet - a quick google search will educate you about their past accomplishments.

I'm not having a go at you man, but don't dismiss Anonymous as a bunch of geeks.

Do you think it's cool to just spout memes you've heard on 4chan on other forums or something? If not please do explain why you are being such an idiot.

    No.

And all you're doing now is throwing random insults with little or no consitency of arguement or thought. Which makes me the idiot?

    Also, you suck at trolling.

Anonymous sits on the internet for most of his waking hours and spreads his influence to all forums over the internets. He never forgets, and he never forgives. Even though people try their best to ignore him, he still has the power to have his way on internet forums, as there is an ever growing number of recruits willing to aid him.

Pretty soon, He will troll forums so hard that they will eventually become unmoderatable, and he will start ruling all the forum members with an iron fist. As more and more people will be creating new forums, their number will increase so much that there will be eventually no server space left to start new ones and the internet will melt down with epic failure.

Just kidding, but that's what Anonymous is all about. You have to get those kids out of their basements. ;)

Trolling does not work when you have 100s of regular posts on this site relating to normal stuff - however continue to think you are cool on the internet by posting memes you've seen on 4chan.
