The Next Generation Russian Fighter emerges.

And its sexy as a motherf*cker.

Most people know the US fifth generation wonderplanes—the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II—but the Russians are working on their own stealth superfighter: The Sukhoi PAK-FA. These concepts—by industrial designer Aleksander Dultsev—are simply amazing

Nobody knows if the real PAK-FA will look anything similar to any of these three models, but we will probably discover it sooner than later: The Sukhoi PAK-FA will replace the MiG-29 Fulcrum and the Su-27 Flanker in the Russian Air Force, with a first flight initially projected for this year.
What we know for sure is that new Sukhoi fighter will directly compete against the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning II.

I, for one, hope that they never have to engage in combat.
Ditto. But seriously: this is plane porn.

    From wikipedia:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_PAK_FA
    Maiden flight

It was announced on 5 May 2007 by Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov that the first flight of the new aircraft was expected in late 2008, almost a year later than originally expected.[8] That estimate has now been superseded by the statement of Sukhoi CEO Mikhail Pogosyan, who stated at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2007 exhibition in Malaysia on December 6 that the prototype will not fly until 2009.[9] This was again confirmed by the deputy prime minister in charge of arms procurement, Sergei Ivanov, in a news conference after a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission in January 2009.[10] On 28 of February 2009 Mikhail Pogosyan announced that the airframe for the aircraft was almost finished and that the first prototype should be ready by August 2009.[11]

Bear in mind these are concept arts... but damn sexy concept arts. One candidate is a Raptoresque diamond-wing, and then a more familiar sukhoi V-wing. I favor the V for sex appeal :)

Other very good conepts on the project also on google images.

These last two however dont look like strong Stealth Capable frames imo.

Gatecrash shhhhhhhh:D They look very "American" IMO it's like they have gone back to copying US/Western Designs like they did in the 50's/Cold War era.

This one to me looks like the most likely to be built. It could be a development of the S47 Berkut prototype. The others while very sexy look too 'concepty' to my eyes.

The clone of the YF-23 is proper Soviet era innovation though!

And even if it never makes it to production, I hope someone brings out a model for FSX/FS9.
