Why Don't Kasabian Have Gigs?

After listening to 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum', I'm wondering why Kasabian don't have gigs? I've seen them a few times supporting other acts, but why don't they have their own gigs? They're well able to put on a live show!

A recent example of their brilliance:D:

They were supposed to be playing the marquee in Cork a few weeks ago but that gig was cancelled due to promotional commitments.

Yeah I went looking for dates for them a day or two ago and was surprised to see there was none for Ireland in any of their two upcoming UK tours. Irritating.

They've played a few stormers in Dolans in Limerick the last few years and they are due back for Arthur's day to headline a gig.

    Ahem...

Don't think they're hugely popular here, couldn't see them filling any large venue by themselves

Real shame as I think they are one of the best bands making music atm. Their second album was disappointing (read: dog****) but WRpLA is brilliant imo and deserves a lot more attention. Best new album I have heard in a long long time.

On a purely numbers level, if they'd headlined Dublin Castle, how come they couldn't sell enough tickets for the Marquee? Slane coming up, I suppose?

Why do they need their own gigs when they get to play the likes of Slane 09:cool::cool::cool: and Glastonbury. ;)

And you like your youtube videos (best video I could find on youtube of Fire at Slane) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JKyAsFzSv4

No-one has heard of them here because Irish radio can only play 3 "rock" bands at any given time, which alternates between The Killers, Kings of Leon and homegrown muck like The Blizzards

not a huge fan, but their performance of "Fire" at Glastonbury was immense:

Saw them twice, an absolutely fantastic gig just before the second album came out in whatever the Academy was called back then. One of the best gigs I've ever been to due to the relatively small size of the venue, I was practically on stage with the band. Saw them again in Dublin Castle but that was a disappointment due to that being a **** venue for live gigs, the sound is awful.

saw kasabian play one of the tents of oxegen in 2006 and they were INCREDIBLE!!! they get the crowd singing along to every single song and it long echoes after they leave stage, some atmosphere. they really should do a gig in the olympia or academy soon. which one of those is bigger btw?

    Goddamn BBC.

Kasabian are alot more popular now....they are due something in the Irish charts. Fire and Underdog are legendary songs. I'd nearly put money they'll be at some festival next year (whether it be Oxegen or not).
