This is advertised on the website as store only collection but I was wondering if it was possible to get delivery to Cork and if so how much would it cost? I rang the store in Belfast and they said they had none in stock.

    Thanks in advance.

    Anything on this John?

If this is not a goer then I'm still interested in something similar. I've seen the Philips hts6100 on offer but I already have a blu-ray player so I don't need the built in dvd player, just the speaker.

    Any suggestions appreciated

    Ash,

apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I have checked with head office and the main warehouse and unfortunately we are sold out of the Yammy Soundbar - we have laso cleared all our Philips HTS6100's.

I don't have anything else suitable available at the moment - however I have seen a really cute soundbar from Philips without DVD that is coming out shortly and I understand that it will retil at around £179/ €199 ish

I am at Philips towers next week and if I can unearth any info on it I'll post it up here for all to see.

Thanks again and apologies that I could not be more helpful,

    ATB,

    John Mc

    No problem John.

It's a nightmare trying to find something suitable and, more importantly, sounds good to replace a surround sound system.

Hi there John I was in talking to some of the guys at Richer Sounds the other day and they told me the Sub woofer for this could be placed anywhere in the room. I have got one now and what they didn't tell me was that the inputs are on the sub woofer so you would have to run all your cables from BR, Cable STB etc round the room to the Sub. Also this has to be the biggest SW I have ever seen!

    Phil,

Yep- It's a bit of a monster sub okay - and the fact that the sub is the centre of operations does make it a bit more restrictive but I hope you are enjoying it and if we can assist in any way just drop us a post or an email,

    ATB,

    John Mc

It's not the sub he's carrying, then? :)

he's a big dog but he aint that big. I think it's kind of funny how the bag has folded to form the word 'mug', as in what a mug for buyin that huge great sub! as for the 'icher sounds' he doesn't have fleas.

    Any news on the soundbars?
Looking to purchase on in the next month or so as well

Actually despite the initial annoyance of the set up (ie huge sub and the inputs being on the sub rather than the sound bar) the sound I am very impressed with. I was playing a music CD through our Blue Ray player the other day and I was very impressed. Blue Ray and DVDs have been good too. The wife can hear the dialogue for a change so that has got to be one less thing for her to moan at me about!

    Hi John

That wouldn't be this by any chance would it:
    http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/en/us/consumer/cc/_productid_HSB3280_F7_US_CONSUMER/DVD-home-theater-system+HSB3280-F7

If so, have you got them in yet? or is it something else?
Looking for a nice soundbar under the telly that won't break the bank.

    Thanks John

Hi ASH! Any chance you have this?
    http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/home-theater-systems/hts6120_12/prd/ie/

I'm thinking of buying one soon, either this or the 8140.

By the way, was in HN a couple of weeks ago looking for soundbars, well, just checking them out, and they don't have any philips in stock at the time, I've asked one of the staff if they have them and what they thinks of them, the staff told me that they're not good and he pointed to the corner. On that corner lay two soundbars bubblewrapped, which according to him, were returned by customers.

Anyway, that didn't put me off philips, I still think Philips are good, bought my first cd player(Philips) in 1999, came with revhargeable batteris, and to this date, it's perfect, I still get about 2 hours of battery life...beat that!!!

Let me know if you have the 6120 or 8140 in stock.

    Cheers!

    Hey bobbleheadray!

Just had a quick look at the HTS6120 and although we don't have it in stock we are getting in the HTS6100 which looks to be the same to me. I've attached a link for you to see the specs. These usually go for €699.99 but we are going to be selling a batch of them for €320! We will have these in next week so if you fancy I can pop your name down for one.

    http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/h/hts6100_05/hts6100_05_pss_eng.pdf

As to the other matter of the Ambi-bar's not being reliable...we have sold a total of 66 bars (both the HTS8140 and the HTS6100) in the last 12 months and we have repaired 3. One of which was not the unit but the remote. That's roughly 4% so the machines have a 96% reliability record. The staff member you spoke to in that HN store was wrong.

These are great units and I really think you should consider the HTS6100. It’s a bargain at the price we will have them at and of course I'll have to check if you also get your further boardies discount!:D
Please give us a call with any more questions or a post.

    Thanks again! Nicola.

    Nicola on behalf of Ash

    Hey V4!
Just had a look at that system. (COOOOEEL!) But the bad news is I don't have it in my little Philips book with the new products. I'll Get Ash to give our rep a call on Monday (I'm off) and see when and if we can get it.

    Thanks, Nicola.

Thanks Nicola, the 6100 would do me only if it had the optical input. I think the optical input is the only difference between the two, 6100 only have the coaxial dig input. I've seen the 6120 at Pixmania. Anyway, I'll just wait around and hopefully, you'll have it in stock soon.

    Thanks, RAY:)
