Carlow based band needs a Drummer!!

Looking for a drummer in or around Carlow who's interested in doin a few covers, but mostly doing some original material.

Seeing as Stoned Developments seems to be on hold at the moment, i'm looking to start jamming again. At the moment we are 2 guitarists and a bass player (mid to late twenties).

Influences...well anything decent really....Friendly Fires, White Lies, Killers, Oasis, Audioslave, RATM, Daft Punk, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Bloc Party.....the list goes on!!

If your interested, gimme a shout and well see what happens!

We could probably do with a singer also, but a drummer would be helpful at the moment. My majestic system of kicking empty boxes and USA biscuit tins will only take us so far!

Should probably mention that we have a sh1t load of gear, and a good practice room!

great band stoned developments. we're based in carlow too but we're looking for a guitarist/vocalist so if we joined forces there'd be one bassist and one guitarist too many

Yea, its true that Stoned Developments were the greatest band ever to come out of the top of the town, but unfortunately Bread Head is off doin the dirt on us with Beef Supreme.

Well we've got an optimal number of guitarists (2), and the internationally recognised standard for the number of bass players is one, which we've got.....so were still just looking for a drummer!!

So if you play the drums, and your name is John (preferred but not essential.....it doesn't cost much to get it legally changed anyway) call 1800 J-O-H-N-O-L-O-G-Y today!

ah seriously though, anyone interested in joining a band let us know , as johnatorium stated we would mostly be doing our own material aswell as covers. and there is any amount of influences we could state as we are open minded. have sh1t loads of gear and practice space.

and i have checked the internationally recognised standard for the number of bass players is in fact , 1 , as seen in the most recent episode of "C.S.I. John",

Carlow band still lookin for a drummer.....
Large practice space, and truck loads of gear. Workin on original material now along the electro/rock/dance-punk lines.

There has to be some drummers out there......get off your ass and lets get this sh1t on the road!

I've been working with the John-bot 4000 up til now....thing about a drum machine is that it cant make the tea and fetch the biscuits like a real drummer!!

So here's the story....we've been lookin for a drummer for a while, and as stated we're looking to start writing some original material.

We've had a few replies, but why is everyone looking for a free ride and a meal ticket?!!
If we're only starting to write songs for a new project, chances are that we don't have gigs lined up, we wont be playing 2-3 nights a week, and you wont be able to pack in the day job and live off the profits.

So if you are looking to get in on the ground floor, and be part of something original and creative then by all means give us a shout. But if its a case of "i play drums, when are the gigs starting", then save it....i'd rather use a drum machine!!

tbh we've had much the same problem. there are drummers alright but getting one to stay sober is a hard trick.

Drum machine aint that bad, haha. my first gig was done with one due to no drummer. that wasn't going to hold me back.
i know a guy in leitrim who may be interested.
Will ask him.

Great success!! We've got 2 definite interested parties.....thanks for the others who responded, but bailed out when we didn't have 500 euro-per-man gigs lined up 4 nights a week, starting next week!!

We will be rocking the sh*t out of Carlow in the near future....stay tuned!

unfortauntely the only drummers i know around carlow are usually too drunk (constantly) to be of any use. We're looking for a drummer for one particular gig only, and cant get one. sober, that is.

I think i'm just gonna buy meself a drum kit instead....at least that way if i'm too drunk to play drums, i'll only have myself to blame!

im already playing two instruments per gig as it is ..... theres a few right dandy young drummers, but Im talking 15 so too young for pubs

yea me mate does the music down in the youth services and reckons theres a few good drummers, but as you say....too young for pub gigs!

Although i reckon that at least one of them has to have an older brother who drums!
