best sound for recording drums

    Hi

Hows it going? I'm using logic to record drums but I'm not happy with the results. Also not that mad on ultrabeat but that might be because I am not using it to its potential. I have heard that Battery 3 and bfd2 are meant to give a "real" drum sound.

What I want to know is it worth buying either of those 2? Or are there any other plug ins worth getting? Or should I persevere with ultrabeat?

    Any help would be great!!

    Cheers

You will rarely ever capture a true drum performance using velocity layered drum samples, even with BFD 2, there is quite simply nothing like the real thing done right. Nevertheless, I have BFD 2 and it is an excellent substitute. What kind of music do you want to make?

Its frustrating trying to recreate that sound but I want the best program to get as close as possible to the real thing. So you would defo recommend bfd2? I suppose my band are like Kasabian, dance rock electro type thing.

    thanks for reply

To be honest, I started with EZ and it was great at the time....the nashville kit on ez is still very impressive compared to all the rest of them.

Since moved to Superior 2.0 http://www.toontrack.com/s20.asp never looked back....

BFD doesnt do it for me? but horses for courses :)

I have also heard great things about superior drummer so maybe demo the two of them and see what happens.
