On this thread you can both vote for one of the above, and make a nomination for the subsequent Album of the Week.

    - Only ONE nomination per user, per week shall be accepted.
    - A nomination will not be accepted again for a subsequent three months.
    - You don't have to ask whether it's ok to nominate a particular album - once it's alt/indie, doesn't matter how old/obscure it is.

Final Fantasy - He Poos Clouds

Nope. Album is from 2001, though a lot of people will know the song 'Always Your Way'.

Voted Deus, even though the Pixies have it sewn up.

+1 for My Vitriol. One of the few good alternative albums from the early noughties, which was a relative drought for British indie, iirc.

Yes pixies were always going to win it. NME voted in as best album ever. anyone know when NME are updating list. think its usually every ten years. not sure

Don't know. I cancelled my subscription to NME in 1998, and cringe every time I open it now. They are running out of genres to create, and are already re-hashing stuff that I remember first time round...Must be getting older! Having said that, my dad subscribed to the mag from the 60's to about 1990, and my sister gets it now

An album released around the same time as My Vitriols 'Finelines' is 'Vibrate You' by King Adora.

This is a MUST for any Pixies fans. It's also gives a nod to The Manics, Early Suede and Placebo.

    Definitely recommend it

I nominate Pierce Turners " 3 Minute World"

Voted for Doolittle of course. Who nominated Infected ffs? Man the minute I saw Doolittle nominated I would have decided not to bother. This one is a predictable outcome. Shame to wast a gem like Infected by putting it up against the Pixies.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

I was thinking the very same thing - but Infected can be nominated again in three months. :)
