Nicest thing a member of the public has said?

The nicest thing a member of the public has ever said to you.

The one that sticks out in my mind would be the thank you I got from a member of the public a friend and I had stopped to help Off-Duty.
I witnessed what had happened and I went over to her , identified myself and a friend that was with me , and asked her a few questions.
Her injuries weren't too serious but I naturally myself and a friend stopped & helped her , and called for an Ambulance.
Nobody else bothered their a**e to stop and help. I wouldn't mind but it was on a busy street in Dublin for god sake, at rush hour.
When the crew came and we gave the handover , I grabbed my bag and got ready to head off.
My friend and I were heading off when she turned to me and thanked me , it really sticks out in my mind for some reason.

What is the nicest thing a member of the public has ever said to you in the course of your work?.

Holding ,opening doors for people ,giving up a seat to old ladys on a bus ,picking something of the floor for somebodys who's dropped it,giving directions to somebody, is usually met with a simple 'thank you ' .The nicest thing a member of the public said to me that I was a ' nice person ' .

A light hearted story and the pc police make an immediate appearance.

No high horses here but people outside of Ballymum seem to think we all own a horse. There is no need to stereotype us all from Ballymum with the same brush.

On this forum the only people who can accuse a person of being a troll are Moderators. I see you are not a Mod so dont make that accusation again.

No problem. I've no interest in stirring trouble. My reply was based on her comment in this thread and i stand by it

look it was a real story not one that was made up, and it happened on shangan ave in ballymun which i refer to PERSONALLY as shagbag ave this is not a reflection on the good people of ballymun but a nick name i've put on this ave because of alot of the bad experience i've dealt with over the last 17 years working in the emergency services.
i have nicknames for other areas too.... like i refer to thonagee rd in coolock as the tons of gee road, these are personal to me
i could of told you dozens of other stories of what people have said to me over my career from any part of dublin and i'd have a nick name for them all cos i've worked them all but i just like to tell the one about "if you where taller you'd be hansome" story. sort of like a back handed compliment from the locals, a bit like me saying to you joanne, "jesus you look great since you put on that bit of weight???
get what i'm tryin to get accross here.

    Hi Paulzx.

As you can see, TheNog let everyone know that the only people who can make such accusations are Mods. Given the fact that TheNog's post was after eroo's post, I'm happy enough that eroo will not do this again now that a general warning has been issued by a Mod.

    Thanks.

This thread had potential & I for one was looking forward to hearing some stories as the members see it, in their own words.

Any other serving member want to contribute to this thread and re-juvenate it?
