    Hi
Just want to take advantage of Ryanair's deal on the flights atm and was wondering can anyone recommend a city to go to for a 3 day break with the girlfriend. We have been to Paris, Prague, London so anywhere but there. Looking for somewhere with sights to see and enough stuff to do to fill the 3 days. Was thinking of going to Berlin but the flights are not cheap and amsterdam but is there much to see there other than the obvious? I was there before but she wasnt, would not mind going back if there was a bit to do

nice in france, one option, ryanair flies into the main airport there, you are close to cannes and its wonderful beaches and just down the road from monte carlo, plenty to see and do in nice itself though the beach is stoney

malaga, madrid, barcelona (if you don't mind being dropped off about 1 hour from the city in reus which has a themepark if thats your thing)

rome, venice (though the airport for venice is in treviso about 30 minutes from venice by train), krakow, zadar in croatia (wonderful scenery outside the city), salzburg in austria (nice city for a day or so and then head west to zell am see or innsbruck which are both stunning), edinburgh is really nice this time of year

well if you could get any sort of a deal for berlin i'd go there, just back and thought it was amazing loads to see and do, and a great vibe about the place too. we got a great deal on the park inn hotel in alexanderplatz which is ideally situated for going anywhere in the city, and you'd probably save money on eating and drinking out compared to other northern european cities.

Have been to lots of European cities - so far my favourite has been Seville...just amazing, every corner you go around has another beautiful old church - and the food...One night at the Parador 30km north of Seville is well worth the money - an old moorish castle on the edge of a hill...

    +1 for Nice, France

I decided to surprise my OH for Valentines last year with a visit to Nice. It was a real last minute decision and it was one of those things that I look back on and think WOW that really turned out well. Ryanair flies right in to the main airport which is about 2mins along the coast from the city itself. You just leave the airport terminal and hop on a bus for about 2 quid which brings you to the city centre in about 10mins. It's perfect. Nice has a lovely flower market and plenty to do and see. The beauty of this place is that 2 - 3 days i perfect if you just want to stroll around Nice itself and take in all it has to offer.

My only other experience with France was Paris, and in Nice I found the locals to be extremely friendly and would go out of their way to help.

    A great European city IMO.

Venice is really romantic, we were there for four nights. We hired a great appartment off venere.com. (it's good for Italy but not great elswhere). The connection to the airport was good. We went off season so we never had to queue.
We've done Rome with Ryanair before, it's actually closer to Rome than the main airport.
Milan was good too. We flew into Bergamo (supposedly a good weekend in its self). We got a bus to Milan central train station, had a great four star deal with breackfast (€100 per room) at a hotel beside the Station (it was on the special deal tab on hotels.com). After one day sight seeing in Milan, we took a forty minute train (€5) ride to upper lake Como, took a paddle steamer down the lake for €15 (beautiful while sipping prosecco) and returned to Milan in thirty minutes by train(€4). A fun weekend.

I'm just back from the city and I would definitely recommend it to anybody. I flew with Aer lingus but Ryanair and Iberia also fly to the same airport in Madrid. Taxis from the airport can cost around 40e so it might be best to get into the city using the metro. I used Lonely Planet's Madrid city guide while I was there-it was really helpful. I stayed in a cheap yet clean and comfortable hotel called the petit palace in Puerta Del Sol. This was right in the centre and therefore it was easy to get around the city. In general I thought that the Madrilenos or Madrid locals were really nice and chatty. It was great for me as I speak Spanish and was able to practice it and get talking to people in the different shops, bars, etc. Although it is not necessary to speak Spanish it helps. All the tourist attractions, metro machines, hotels and most bars have English support.
If you like art it's definitely an interesting city to visit..I only went to the Reina Sofia which housed different types of art and Guernica, the painting which represents the german bombing. I cannot recommend this city enough Nightlife is good as well but bars can tend to rip you off, so shop around;). If you are getting your day-to-day water, food, etc..Go to the different supermarkets like Dia, El corte ingles (though this place is like Brown Thomas and Superquinn combined. Definitely go.. you won't regret it.

Definitely go to Krakow, such a great city, sooo cheap, the airport is only like 15 mins away on a train. It's a great place to just walk around cause it's so small, have been to most of the big European cities and Krakow beats them all!
