I am taking some people to donegal and would like to know good spots. I have doagh famine village, Errigal and the glenveagh vistors center on the list. Can you suggest any must see's for tourists. Also what is the most "Irish" town. They want to go to a so called typical Irish town. I know most towns are changing and becoming more modern. Is there any old towns left out there?

    Cheers

Adara is a really nice village. It's a few miles from Narin and Portnoo.
You must bring them to a pub called Nancy's.
Nancy's is a small pub which comprises of a series of small rooms with open fireplaces, crammed with antiques and bric a brac.
The main business is in serving fine drinks in a lively, welcoming atmosphere and with a bit of luck you will end up in the middle of a traditional music session....

Also try and make your way to McRory's in Culdaff. Best chowder in the county.

if you go to Ardara, Glencolmcille/Slieve League are not far away.

Agreed with Ardara and while there, you should go to Glencolmcille and then to Slieve League.

    Don't forget Malin Head.

You could head further northwest to a place called Magheroarty in the heart of the Irish speaking area. It has one of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches anywhere in Ireland and further afield.

From there you can get the regular ferry to Tory Island which is well worth a visit.

Thanks for these suggestions. All places I have visited but forgot about.

Any music festivals or fleadhs this weekend 10-12th July?

There should be traditional sessions in ardara at the weekend, such as bee hive bar, also in Letterkenny (good for a night out, but not very scenic), also in Teelin and maybe glencolumkille, no festivals spring to mind though apart from this one:http://www.eaf.ie/

The Earagail Arts festival is currently on in different locations throughout Donegal from the 4th to the 19th of July.

Lots of different acts to suit most tastes.
