I always wonder if these types of DVD's sell, obviously they do considering they keep releasing them but I dont even know anybody who bought the Irish Grand Slam one either.

The DVD's done by SKY Sports are pretty crap, the Munster Champions of Europe DVD last year was pretty poor when it came to all the behind the scenes parts, all it showed was a 5 minute recap of the pool stages and extended highlights of the Quater, Semi and Final. Any DVD made in a month can't be that good.

The 2006 one done by Three and Today FM was far better.

I bought the munster one in 2008, and the book.

Well I won't be buying it for extras and behind the scenes type things, just want to see the final in good quality and highlights of the semis.

Ok, but I think it should be called a "Tournament Recap" rather then a "Commemorative DVD" if there is nothing else but the matches :D , anyway.......

The 06 Munster one was good, didn't bother with the 08 one and probably won't get the Leinster one since I have the matches on DVD.

Yeah I agree that it would be much better if they waited and put together some decent extras.

If they had video footage from dressing room etc., players talks and everything, like reaching for glory DVD, that'd be great, but you can't always have a camera around, so unlikely.

But they should have waited to get all the players back and do a series of interviews in pairs and stuff, talking about the season and going back over the highs and lows.

Then have the build up and aftermath from each match on there too.

From the looks of it, this will just be a straight forward highlights package and that's it.

I've already ordered mine anyway :o Nice to have the highlights if nothing else, plus I never got to see the Quins game back and I've only seen brief highlights of the final. Got to see the semi in full again though.

But it'll also have the Wasps game in RDS which I never got to see on TV which would be a good one too.

A friend of mine has the Irish grand slam DVD and he said it's just the games....every game in full I think, but that's it.

I hear the Munster 06 one was brilliant! What was on it?

OT: Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the reaching for glory DVD? That was amazing, but never got to see it in full.

It covers the history of Munster, 1974 vs All Blacks, other near misses vs touring teams.

It covers the 2000 and 2002 (hand of back :mad:) finals.

It covers the Miracle Match. :):)

Basically the DVD documents the history/tradition of Munster.

And then it covers the whole 05/06 HC Campaign.

Its second disc contains the entire SF (happy days :p) and the entire Final.

Comparing to 06 DVD to the 08 DVD is like comparing Living With Lions 97 to Inside The Lions Den 2005 tbh.

I hope that answers your question mate.

Good DVD for a Munster fan or neutral one. A bit too much hyperbole and cliché maybe, but a good watch nonetheless.

Cheers, ya sounds brilliant, might actually get my hands on it and give it a watch.

Not looking forward to seeing that semi again though. :(

Not expecting much from Leinster one anyway, but nice to have for nostalgia if nothing else.
