Urgent Help: Wedge for Specialized Seatpost

folks, I've managed to strip the threads in one of the wedges that is used to keep my seatpost in place. The bike is a Specialized Allez Elite 2006. For some reason Specialized decided to use some double wedge system on this bike. It typically has a gold coloured wedge which is used with a black wedge in order to hold the seatpost in place when you tighten the screw. I've messed up the black part after years of neglect.

I have my club championship race tomorrow which I cannot do unless I find a replacement for this (other bike is out of action also). I'm going to drop into Cycleways this lunchtime to see if they have one.

Just in case they don't have one, if anyone has a spare they can lend me for tomorrow, I'd be extremely thankful.

    P

So the Seat post has a chim around it ? ( like a collar ) i.e. the seat post is too small for the seat tube ? Does an oversized seat tube fit in that seat tube ? I have an oversized seat post if you wanna try that ?

Oversized won't help. I can't find a picture on the web to explain what I am looking for, but anyone with the same bike will know what I am talking about.

Thanks for the offers guys. I'm going to call into Cycleways at lunch and see if they can sort me out.

you could probably use the expansion bolt on the end of a cheap bikes stem.

That is really bizzare. Why does the seatpost clamp on it's own not suffice? Bit of a roundabout design solution by specialized. I will have to see this up close next time.

The seat tube is not a complete circle. It flares off to the back. I think it makes me faster, or something.
