    Hi,
Im trying to set up a dish for fta tv but im having problems with the signal.
The signal quality is good. 80%
    The signal strength is zero?
No matter how I twist the dish I cant get the strength to get any better.
I have googled this but everyone seems to have good signal strength and bad quality. not the other way around. the cable is pretty short 10meters and the connecitons I think are ok.
Can anyone please tell me what Im doing wrong.
    Thanks!!

In some receivers, such as Comags, the signal strength and quality meters are switched around, so that in those cases it's the signal strength you need to watch.

Try this guide, with the warning that quality/strength are reversed in your case.

I've just finished lining up my dish and it's not easy!

Because you need to get to get elevation and azimuth right at same time it's not enough just to pan around hoping to get lucky.

As most dishes are offset you'll probably need your dish to be vertical, or even pointing down slightly for the correct elevation.

For azimuth I found this site http://www.satellite-calculations.com/Satellite/lookangles.htm very good. Put in your location and most importantly the correct date to get the time at which the sun and satellite are in same direction. Time should be around 11:38 am BST.

Also make sure your LNB is close to correct polarisation, twisted about 15 degrees clockwise as you face dish with the satellite behind you.

    Good luck!
