Hair like straw!

I got my hair cut recently and the hairdresser cut it straight across at the end, making me look like a little kid! She also put in layers but they stick out on their own and are like straw. It's almost as if she used a blunt scissors or razored it all over which she didn't. Any tips on what I should ask for when I go to get it cut again? I want the end to be less blunt and more choppy... I'm not sure how to describe it...

Are you going back to the same place??? If you tell your hairdresser that you want it choppy, he\she should know exactly what you mean. Sounds to me like you might have to play it safe and bring in a picture of what you would like.
My stylist put layers in my hair a while ago and they just sit perfectly into place....very well behaved:)

I got choppy layers before and they look harsh....
Try looking into feathered layers, they are much softer and add a little (whats the word Im looking for?) ou....OMPH to your hair!! If you look at hair dye box's in shops they normally have lovely styles....just to inspire you like!!
    Good Luck xx
