I'm wondering if someone can recommend some professional service to me that can help me to identify what career direction I should be heading in.

Simply I have no idea where I should be applying myself or what type of job best suits my personality and I have no idea where to start. I was thinking of going on to further education on a part time basis but I can't decide on the right course for me.

I'm currently working in IT/telecoms as a software developer and desperately unhappy in it. I'm at a stage were i don't know if I should stay with the IT/Telecoms domain and look for another role OR get out altogether.

I've never known what my skills are where they would be best suited, i dont know that job satisfaction is. I'm earning good money for my age (26) but i can't go on like this. any ideas of consultants or career advisors?

Your strong points don't necessarily mean you will enjoy a different type of role. Are you unhappy in your current role because you are bad at it (Of course this can be a chicken / egg scenario - low motivation poor work or poor work leads to poor motivation)

I don't see why you would pay someone to tell you where you should be applying yourself. Tell us what you actually like to do and work off some suggestions. Usually the best people to give advice are people who actually work in specific industries not a person who makes their buck from telling you about industry they dont work in.

i think im just bored with it now, i find it too easy. im pretty much done with it. There is work/projects to be done but im also bored with them and im starting to put work on the long finger which is not a good situation to be in, i find myself spending more of my day on the net too which is bad! i feel like im pidgeon holed to be honest. i just need to get out into something with alittle more business involvment.

    Hi,

I would recommend Mairead Griffin at Career Mentors

She has over ten years experience in HR and Recruitment and is a Fellow of the CIPD - she will help you out...
