I'm thinking of buying an 03 Daewoo Kalos, €3k. I don't know much about Daewoo. Should I buy or not?

nothing particlarly wrong with them. you're spending small money, the alternatives aren't massively better.

Main criteria are mileage, condition, NCT, condition of tyres, whether timing belt AND WATER PUMP is done, and signs of a careful owner, be wary of any driven by old grannies as the engines have a habit of coking up if not driven properly. do usual GM checks for head gasket problems

The Fiat Panda is a better car:

But I'd be looking at the Hyundai Getz too, better built, equipped and packaged than the Kalos:

    Thanks you.

Just thought with the recession that it would be easier to find a cheap car. I've a 00 passat and want to trade it in. I am only getting about 2k trade in for it, so recession deals work both ways i guess.......
