5-a-side some evening?

Right,

I know this is the cycling forum, we love bikes and so forth. Just trying to get a list of about 10-12 people who might be up for a bit of 5-a-side football maybe during the evening some weekday? Standard is irrelevant, age is irrelevant, just a few cycling peeps kicking lumps out of each other, having a laugh, etc. I can get a pitch in UCD for the student rate of 25 euro, so 2.50 a head. If it all goes belly up and no one enjoys it, you have only lost one evening and 2.50 from your pocket money.

Anyway, it's very much in the "Wouldn't it be nice stage", nothing concrete until I see a few names pop up.

I'm not sure they let you use bikes to play football in UCD.... You might have to take the wheels off like when getting on the luas.

Sweet! So some wed/thurs/fri evening? I'd say a 7/8pm start is the way to go. If everyone could just pick one of the days mentioned. I am free any evening, naturally. Friday is probably too close to saturday spin territory, so wednesday or thursday are the realistic options.

Thursday 7pm
Thursday 8pm

Is it possible to do a pole where we can select more than one answer?
Then whatever gets the most, wins......obviously needs 10+ votes for 10 players

How ironic is is that you have a much higher take-up here than in the soccer forum

I hung up the boots a while ago but wouldn't mind giving this a bash again. Not sure about the cycling to/from rule. First bit no problem but as I tend to get broken up when I play it's the cycling home that's the problem!

That said, I'm also a ref so I would have no probs offering my services on that score either-free gratis obviously-but like a lot of other posters shift work is my nemesis.

Still is played down there in fact, round one of the European Championships was played in April and was on TV.

UPDATE: I am in UCD now, as I feared, block booking has taken over a lot of the evening slots. There is one for 6pm tmw (Thursday) on a 5 a side astron (no boots, runners or astro boots, can get away with mouldies).

If 9 people reply to this saying "yes" and want to play, I can book it before I leave here later on.
