    Hi all,

Anyone know what date and location Munster are playing Connacht in this year's Magner's league?

Great game in Galway after Christmas last year, want to make plans to head for it this year and presuming its on in either Thomond or Musgrave park but need to find out which one and the date :)

    Cheers.

There will be 6 ML fixtures at Thomond Park and 3 fixtures at Musgrave Park.

The Irish derbies are likely to be held at Thomond (tickets will sell), along with the other top sides, so Connacht, Ulster, Leinster, Ospreys, Cardiff and another are likely to come to TP.

A round of Irish derbies are usually held around Xmas/New Year.

Wow, that real fare on the Cork people
There is only going to be two sell-out Magners league games in TP next season and thats Leinster and Ulster.

On another note, where will the Final be played?
    New Lansdown Road mabey?

Oh carp yeah, forgot there were playoffs this year!!! This is gonna be great! :D

What is it, top 4 playing out? 1 V 4 and 2 V 3 with first place getting the home advantage in both matches? Think I read that somewhere... Or maybe it was Gerry Thornley's suggestion as to how to play it.

Does the top seed stage the final at their own ground?

ML Final at Thomond Park (/licks lips)

The Munster Branch in their wisdom sold the AB and Connacht games as a package, meaning the Connacht game was technically sold out too, therefore denying Connacht fans the opportunity to attend the game. So its not just ye Cork people who miss out!

Edit: Here's hoping for the same result in Galway this year! :)

    obviously not all the tickets!

I bought AB tickets on their own

There was still a big crowd in Thomond for the ML game if I remember. Munster v Leinster definitely, Ospreys and possibly Ulster might sell out, Connacht would still attract 15,000 plus as would all their other ML games.

I would imagine that the ML final will be played either in Murrayfield, Cardiff or Lansdowne Rd. Venue will probably be based on who reaches the final - hard to see a sell out if say Ulster met Edinburgh in Cardiff!
Even though it would be good if there were finals in Thomond or the Liberty Stadium or Ravenhill for a change. Will be interesting!

I think maybe start off with a home neutral venue for the highest league placed side in the final.

So if, for example, Cardiff finished first and Munster second and both made it to the final, it would be played in Millenium, or vice versa on leage places, it would be played in Lansdowne Road.

Incidently, will Lansdowne be ready by end of next season?

    Sometime in April 2010
So if any Irish teams get a home final, then it could be the first professional game in Lansdown Road.

That's a good idea actually, I think it will be ready in August 2010?

So judge for yourself if you think it will be ready in time.
Also, is it just me or do the Stands look very narrow?

It's hard to tell....from my completely unknowledgeable perspective, it doesn't look like it'll be ready this time next year!!

But this is all based on cosmetics...if they had the seats in now (which I'm sure wouldn't take much time) and got the roof finished in the next month or two (have no idea how long it takes....I'd imagine a lot longer) then by the looks of it, all that would be left is fixtures and fittings, and of course the final piece, getting the pitch ready in time.

Feckin hell...that north terrace really os pathetic, isn't it. How many rows of seats do you reckon they'll fit on that? 10? if even? *sigh* 20,000 extra seats and a fully completed stadium lost there anyway. :(

I know, with that pathetic terrace and a rather low hanging roof I kind think in a decades time a lot of people might be thinking "oppertunity lost"
