Right so, its that time of the year again to pick your rugby world XV. Im going to start with mine:

5. Victor Matfield (South Africa)
6. Rocky Elsom (Australia)
7. Richie McCaw (New Zealand)
8. Sergio Parisse (Italy)/Pierre Spies (South Africa)

9. Fourie Du Preez (South Africa)
10. Matt Giteau (Australia)
11. Bryan Habana (South Africa)
12. Stirling Mortlock (Australia)
13. Brian O'Driscoll (Ireland)
14. Maxime Medard (France)
15. Mils Muliaina (New Zealand)

16. Gethrin Jenkins (Wales)
17. Stephen Moore (Australia)
18. Paul O'Connell (Ireland)
19. George Smith (Australia)
20. Dan Carter (New Zealand)
21. Jamie Roberts (Wales)/Ma'a Nanu (New Zealand)
22. Lee Byrne (Wales).......Although Rob Kearney had a great Lions tour I reckon he is too inconsistant...He doesn't always play that well

That's a good team, but Pierre Spies is overrated, he's a good player, but not a great player....yet. I'd take Parisse any day.

Parisse Vs Spies argument has been discussed here on numerous occasions. Id take parisse, I just put them both on to avoid the argument and discuss other positions. After the fantastic lions tour I simply couldn't leave out Roberts. Otherwise I would have Ma'a Nonu.

Personally I think Victor Matfield is a seriously overrated player sure he can steal a few balls at the lineout but in open play hes anonymous an if the lions actually had a hooker how could throw to the tail of the lineout he would have been completely useless in the tests would have flannery in there too with smith on for mcCaw Jenkins in and definetly not medard he has swine flu :eek:
