Does anyone know what is a good curling tongs to get that's easy to use. My hairdresser mentioned some tongs or wand or something to me and I can't remember what it's called or what brand.
    Any feedback welcome!

    I have this....It is brilliant.
I have long hair, and all it take is 15 minutes to do a full head of curls.
And they last they whole night, and my hair is still wavy the next day.
I have super straight fine hair, and sets usually fall out.

Was it the HerStyler one that she recommended?
A girl in Arnotts (JervisSt) demonstrated this on my hair last week and it was fab. It only takes 3 seconds to curl each bit.
Very pricey though (€110), so obviously didn't buy one.
Considering getting it off ebay though soon, so I'll report back then :)

I have a Hedkandi one, got it in argos for something like €40, best curler ever! Goes up to 230 degrees and even manages to curl my hair which is completely straw-like from the extent of my bleaching habit! :o It makes even nicer curls in healthy hair lol!

was just going to recommend this. its really really good, i also have straight hair and this holds the curls and u can choose how thick the curls are and it gives a lovely look. i bought mine in my local hairdressers. Most will stock this or if not order it in 4 u

I have the HerStyler one. It's brilliant. And, as mentioned above, you get a years free styling.

I'd be wary about the years free styling.
Do a quick google search, apparently the years free styling is a scam. They promise this, but tend to move out of each location after a month.

What is the styler like though?
The girl in Arnotts was charging €110 for it, but I have seen it on ebay and gumtree for €50.
Is it really worth getting? Curls stay in all day etc?

Would appreciate your views on it, as I am really considering buying one after getting a demo of it in Arnotts.
    Thanks!

i have very thick sort of wavey hair, would these tongs be good for giving me loose waves/curls? or are they kinda mostly for tight/dressy curls?

Actualy me and my friends had planned to get the HerStyler for ouf other friend for her birthday. But when one of us went to get it the people had moved on. They said they'd be there! So now we're looking for a good hair curler we can buy quickly and easily too!

The HerStyler is very good. Curls last all day even in my extremly straight hair. I'd definitely reccomend it. But it's just a matter of finding it!

That's such a bummer that they have moved on!
I wonder how many people bought the curler from them due to the promise of one years free styling?
I was sooo tempted to buy it that day in Arnotts, but really couldn't afford the €110 price-tag, even with the "promise" of a years free styling.

I came home and googled it...and was sooo glad I didn't fork out the €110, especially when I read about the sort-of scam re. the free styling.

I looked on ebay, and there are some on there for about €60 (the one size ones, not the triple one).

I also looked on gumtree, and found the number for a girl selling them in Dublin. She is selling them for €50 I think.
I can't decide which is a better option though. I have a bit of come-back with ebay if anything goes wrong...whereas meeting a person in town and buying it from them mightn't be the best idea if something goes wrong with it. Hmmmmm.

    Whoops, I'm writing too much.

Basically, I meant to ask you, would you definitely recommend buying it at a price-tag of €60ish? Well worth the money?
    Easy to use etc?
My hair is pretty straight, shoulder length.
I'm sooo tempted to go with the Gumtree girl, purely because I am sooo impatient, and want it now! :)

Which size one did you get?

    Thanks a million! :)

I was in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre during the week and they are selling a hair curler in one of the centre ailses called Amika. Its brilliant. It costs €90. My mum bought it for my girls and it works so well. My eldest has poker straight hair and the curls have stayed in it all week and it look great. Really easy to use, wrap hair around it wait for 3 seconds and its done. Have to say looks a bit 'ringlety' at first but looks great the next day. They are doing demonstrations if you want to try it out before you buy.

I'm going to buy the Hertyler one.

Just wondering...does anyone know which size I should go for?
    I'm clueless!

My hair is longer than shoulder length, but not very, very long.
Would the 25mm or 13mm be better?
I dont want verrry tight curls (which I am assuming the 13mm would give me)...but I'm also worried that the 25mm might be too wide..?
The photos on ebay dont really help :o

i have a great umberto giannini one i got in boots. its 60euro now, but i got it for 30euro last christmas, they still have them in there though i saw them about 4 or 5 weeks ago.

its got a big barrell and has a really high temperature, cant rem exactly but its def over 200 degrees.. theres a clamp on it where you grab your hair from the end and then twirl it up the barrell, its brilliant cos you just cant go wrong! (even with those hard to reach bits at the back!)

you seem to have your heart set on that gumtree one though so maybe ill keep quiet now :D

Babyliss pro - the barrel comes in a couple of different sizes, the medium one is the best. I used to use it in the salon all the time.

    Hi Guys,
Just to let you know I went to a Shopping Centre in Newbridge and they were demonstrating FREE curls with the Herstyler. I went over and thought why not. The girl did half my hair and would not finish it or do any more with it unless i purchased the product at €100.00. I thought this was really bad business as i was unsure if i would like the style in my hair and could not really decide on what it looked like without it being finished. I decided to purchase the product and my hair got finished thank god - imagine going around with half curls half straight ...she would not even finish my hair until i handed over the cash!! I went home with it delighted with myself as it looks so easy to use but decided after after a few days that curls are just not for me, i have not even used the product so went back to get a refund as it says on the receipt you can get one before 14 days are up - they would not give me one unless i forked out for the supposedly free curls they had done on me a few days before, i think it is a major scam altogether, they had not got a single cent in their till to give me back my money and i am still in arguments with them, they said they will refund me because i threatened to stand there all day unless they gave me my money back, but sure they hadf nothing to give!! Will be going back again tomorrow and seeing how i get on but if you are going to buy this styler, please make sure you want to keep it...

Depends on what type of curls you want really... I prefer loose ones so I got a curler with a large barrel. This is the one I have:

    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4432272/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHealth+and+personal+care%7C14418350/c_2/2%7Ccat_14418350%7CHair+care%7C14418399/c_3/3%7Ccat_14418399%7CCurlers+and+stylers%7C14418404.htm

The curls are really pretty and give you great volume. The only downside is you do have to curl each section for about 10 - 15 secs which can singe your hair. All in all fairly good for 26.99 though!

I have this one and its the only one that will curl my hair. http://www.boots.ie/en/Remington-CI96Z1-Silk-Waving-Wand_1339464/

I have long, thick, frizzy hair and I've used the Remington pearl wand, the Babyliss Pro 210, and various other curlers/tongs, and the Remington silk waving wand is the only one that curls my hair, and the curls last for 2-3 days too.
