I got this html from another site. When I was looking for "www.ashmoreproductions.com " on Google.
A competitors site came up and looking into it further I found this code.
This site is Based in Cork. As I said I know this guy and I think his seo company are up to something.

I think it would be better for everyone if the outcome/solution to whatever problem was posted in public so others could benefit from it. :)

I dont wish to put this persons website or name up.
But as ye all can see www.ashmoreproductions.com is on another sites content.

Why is this and what is really going on here??

To cut a weird story short:

Google is suggesting that the OPs website name appeared on a competitors page. However the page as it is now and its cache contain no reference to said site. Even the result that google gave on the search index gave no indication in the brief text that showed where it was (usually its highlighted in bold).

Regardless, there is nothing to support the claim Google makes and even if it was present sometime ago it should have no real bearing on the OP and his business.

If I look for wedding video cork and save the competitors page ,my site dosent show up in the Google cache. When I look for my site "www.ashmoreproductions.com" ,this other site shows up at the end of the list. Its at this time I look at the cached version and my site shows up.

I cannot explain why this is.

Your website name or link does not appear on your competitors website. Google seemed to have reported so in error because its own cache and search results do not show where the reference was made.

Nothing to loose any sleep about, just seems like a problem with Google.

I did a little snooping, figured out your competitor and your text does not appear in the page but the cache of your competitors site says

"This is Google's cache of http://www.********.com/. It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 1 Jul 2009 17:51:56 GMT. The current page could have changed in the meantime. Learn more

These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: www ashmoreproductions com"

So, I didn't go through all your competitors links on site explorer and I could be way wrong, but it looks like their seo may be trying to google bomb their site into searches for your site by using your name in anchor text to links to their site in directories and spammy links.

I wouldn't think it's too effective, because when I search your name they're nowhere near the first three pages.

If this is what their strategy is, I wouldn't be too worried about it panning out, but it does show how far they're willing to go and they come up with something that could over take you for two days before they get a -950.

Just keep doing what you've been doing texanman, it's obviously frustrated the competition.

One more thing, where you've seen youre site mentioned it in the code above, the
    "<a href="http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:iRGVMAuGWz0J:www.*****.com/+www.ashmoreproductions.com&hl=en&gl=ie&strip=1&quot; style="text-decoration: underline; color: rgb(0, 0, 204);">Text-only version</a>"
is written into the cached version by google when they highlight searched terms only because you searched for those terms.

So in that instance it's google putting your site's name into the cached page, but it does say your site is in links pointing to the page.
