Hey all, so the story is im getting in on producing as a hobby and have been learning to use reason 4 for the past few months. Now i think its time i got a half decent keyboard as the virtual keyboard just isnt cutting it for me...heres the problem, i know nothing about keyboards at all. So can anyone recommend a keyboard for me, with regards to brand and amount of keys? Not looking for anything fancy like one with a built in controller or pads or anything. All advice is welcome and much appreciated, thanks a mil.

How much do you want to spend Luke?

That's 3/4 of the decision right there ...

I think the M-audio Oxygen (or something similar) is a fairly cheap and cheerful place to start - its basic enough and not too dear and comes in either 25 key or 49 keys, I personally prefer the 49 key ones as obviously you've more octaves at hand - really handy for playing live.

The M-audio stuff is grand and with local representation in the unlikely event of failure things can be sorted quickly.

Have the older model of this myself. Very good keyboard. Proper solid loike.

Here's the 50 key version, but for the extra 34 quid 'd go with the 60 key:

    Semi weighted keys too.

Alternatively, the m-audio ones are quite cheap for the simpler keyboards...
