Hey, does anyone have a link to a site that provides recommended training schedules according to race distance. E.g if training for 10k do this much each week, if half marathon do this much each weeketc.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Portia, just another site that I found really useful for training schedules is www.coolrunning.com , think they are the ones made famous by the couch to 5 k plan, I used one of their schedules for a half marathon

Another source (Irish, it seems) for training programmes (10k, Half-M, Mara, etc)...
    http://www.runrepublic.ie/training/10k.htm

I've never followed a programme to the day but find it very useful to have a reference (or more than one) when setting a plan for the week. When training for the marathon I considered a week successful if I stuck close to the total miles planned and got the appropriate length long runs in but I find it tough to plan more than that in advance.

thanks guys, everyone so helpful and quick to respond on this forum!
Can anyone recommend which one i should follow as I'm doing all three of the adidas series races. Would the half marathon schedule be best, seeing as this is the last race and the longest distance..? Or would a different approach be better.?

Sounds like a good approach Portia. You wont have the time to do a 5 mile, 10 mile and 1/2 program, so stick with the 1/2 program, and it'll get you through the other distances just fine. Just remember to take a break/reduce mileage before each race so that you'll be fresh for each one.

Second the above, but don't rest completely in the days coming up to the races, a few nice easy runs with some strides thrown in will help keep the body and mind in race mode while not tiring you too much.
I'm following a marathon program and fitting in the Adidas series as hard workouts along the way.
    Best of luck!
