changer of ownership of car

    need advice ,3-4 years ago i traded in my car to a main nissan dealer on the northside of dublin,well last week i got a notice from e/flow tolling to pay a toll on the m50,but the reg on the notice was for the car i traded in i rang e/flow and explained that it was not my car but they confirmed that it is still registered in my name,and yes i have e/mailed,written a letter ,and tried to phone shannon car reg to no avail,how can this car be taxed and insured not from me ,so what should i do.should i be concerned

    You should have paper work to show you sold the car, send a copy to E-flow and to Shannon. The car may not be taxed otherwise you should have got the renewal notices.

    Classic mistake. Never assume a car dealer will send off the papers. Always do it yourself.

    It is perfectly possible for whoever that has it to be able to tax and insure it.
