Any update on DART smartcard tickets?

Just wondering if anyone has an update on these Oyster Card-style tickets. When will we be using them etc? My local station now has smart card scanners on the old turnstyles, so I'm assuming it'll be soon

they were "officially" launched a few months ago. Ther eis to be a trial period first, with the general public using them by the end of the year.
