Hi guys, im just organising my job working hours for the next few months, and was wondering does anyone know what times lectures were on at for 2nd yr marketing level 8 last year?

I just finished first year there and we used to always be finished lectures by 1 oclock.....

Is it the same in 2nd year??

Also can anyone tell me out of interest are the classes A&B mixed now that we are in 2nd year?

    Thanks i'd appreciate your help:)

I'm just finished fourth year now so from what I can remember....

Classes for the most part are morning based barring I believe thursdays where I believe its a four o clock finish with tutorials.

Workload is roughly the same if a little bit more.... the real difference in workload comes in semester 2 year 3 and as for year 4... you can expect 10-11hr days because its pretty intense to be honest... just to be aware

    Cheers, Thanks for the info

Can you rememebr by any chance if the class is merged at this point?
Or is there still an A + B class?

If there is still an A + B class, are they mixed with difffernt people?

    Cheers,

ps.....are you serious about the 10hr days in 4th yr?
    crikey!!!!!!!!!

    hope exams went well btw.

The classes are divided into A and B and C so theres 3 classes to accomodate for the students entering second year from the marketing diploma.

Basically if there's 90 people they divide the classes along surname lines so A-F is Class A if your name is Wang you're in Group C etc etc...

Bear in mind that there is room to manouver so if your friends are in another class, you can swap if you can find someone who wants to transfer to your group (usually) I know when I was doing it there were issues with classes being too big because friends wanted to stay together hence people ended up in groups there weren't assigned too.

Despite all the reminders to stay in the group you were assigned to... they eventually gave up and groups were ridiculously overloaded while some were tiny.

Exams went fine thanks...only prob is getting a job now

In my year we still had A and B in 2nd year. no C. But our year mixes really well, even with people who came into our year. you'll have fridays off for the first semester and mondays off for the second. classes usually begin around 12 and go on till 3/4. handy course. its great! do erasmus as well btw

Slightly off topic but was would you guys recommend this course ?
I was doing Finance in Maynooth this year but dropped out due to minimal interest in accounting, maths being too difficult, and a general dislike of the college. Thanks.

    Hi Minty,

Although the course is called marketing, there is still a strong enough emphasis on accounting, statistics, quants and economics.

Also you may miss the campus feel that nooth has to offer.
Dit has no proper campus as such.

Bit yeah interesting course for some one with an interest in business and creativity.

    Hi Tothesea

so do you mean the classes stayed the exact same as the first year?
thats fairly crap, i thought they would mix them so everyone would get to know everyone else

Whats the work load like in yr2? Harder than yr1?

Oh and where did you do erasmus? sounds fun!

Your option will be mixed. but honestly that shouldn't deter you from making friends with the other class. organise a class night out or something. thats what we do the whole time.:D
I found 2nd year easier. more group projects. its semesterised too. I went to america for erasmus. Brilliant!
