I've reluctantly decided to keep my car as I'm being offered shag all on a trade in so now I have to replace the tyres. Where is doing the best prices on tyres (new not remoulds) at the moment in Dublin/Kildare. It currently has 16 inch Michelins on it.

If your not fussy on brands, I found Rounabout Tyres in Walkinstown to be very reasonable and quick, otherwise a quick blast up to Newry area. My brother got motorcycle tyres fitted in Toombridge for a little more that half he would have paid down here and to hell with the economy.

I'd second the suggestion to try NI eg this place in Fermanagh
    https://www.gtstyres.com

If you are getting 4 tyres you might save over a hunded quid - even taking into account the fuel needed to get there

I was in Newry yesterday and there is tyre sales all the way in, a lot of people are going north for them.

Can I just add that you should never skrimp on tyres or brakes. Cheap tyres are cheap for a reason and they will give you significantly less grip.

I haven't used this site so I can't vouch for it personally but I'm told they're pretty good

I've used Heffernan's in Kildare town a few times and found them to be on the ball moneywise with good service. Kimmage Tyres in Sundrive Road, Dublin are also very good. I've had mixed experiences with the likes of Advance etc.

If you're happy with the performance of your current tyres, I'd suggest sticking to the same brand/type - it also simplifies price comparison between suppliers.
