    Hi,

My wife took up a job a couple of weeks ago, and our dog is now spending most of the day alone in the garden, bored and unhappy. We would like to relocate him to a more suitable family, but don't know how.
    Any suggestions welcome.

have you thought about hiring a dog walker? or maybe getting another dog for company? please don't give up your dog there are so many dogs in rescue centre's maybe you would be able to give them a forever home

Dogs take time to adjust to a new routine, a long walk in the evenings is what most people do if they are working during the day and then some people use dog walkers and dog creches.

    Hi Joypad
Well done for thinking of your dogs happiness. You havent said what age or breed your dog is. As long as your dog is exercised he may adapt to the change in your routine. An older dog may adapt quicker. does he have toys etc to play with while you are away - could you leave him with a stuffed kong and/or perhaps leave a radio on low in the shed for him (Im assuming he is outside while you are away). Would you also consider getting a dog walker or putting him into a dog creche one or two days a week.

If all of the above fails contact your local rescue group. I know you didnt say it but please do not leave your dog into a pound.
