Long story short I looking to get into cycling and looking for a decent starter bike. I've been doing a bit of research, talking to a few people and have my eye on a bike but dont know if its any good. Its the Saracen Tour 3. From what I can tell the parts that are on it are of good quality, maybe someone has experience with the bike or knows if it is a good bike.

I'm looking at buying it hear on ebay:

Not sure if this is a good idea, is it a good price for it or would I be able to get it cheaper here in Ireland?
This price is about the limit of what I want to spend on the bike i will probably have to spend a bit more on gear, pedals and stuff. Maybe people would have any other ideas of decent/better bikes in the 500-550 range.
I'm roughly 5'11 in height so I have been told 56 - 57cm is the right frame size me.

Any help with this is very much appreciated.

Cool, will do and thanks for the advice so far, I'll hold off on buying it for the moment anyway.

personally I think you could a hell of a lot better. A lot of the stuff on that seems to be bottom of the range Shimano stuff.

I see, well to be honest I dont really know what would be bottom of the range vs better stuff. But people seem to think this bike isn't good value for money so far.

So could anyone advise me on a better bike for around €500?

I am now considering the Giant Defy 4

Would this be better value for money than the previous bike mentioned?
