Recovering Photos from a Corrupted Memory Card

    Hi all,

Does anyone know how to recover photos from a corrupted memory card or whether or not it's possible? When I switch on the camera I can see the pictures but when I connect it to the computer via USB cable it says the card is corrupted.

It's a 2GB sandisk and I brought it to a computer shop in Phibsboro and your man wanted €250 to recover the photos. I'd get 20 new memory cards for the same price. Only thing is I like the photos and would like to keep them if possible.

If you can recommend a good techie/computer shop in Dublin/software program I'd appreciate it.

If Ghost Train's recommendation doesn't work, another free option you could try is Glary Utilities ( http://www.glaryutilities.com/ ), a suite of software with 19 seperate modules, including a File Delete section, very handy.

Get yourself a USB card reader and see if the card shows up on your PC that way, rather than directly connecting the camera.

If you can see the card but not the photos, give recuva a try.

Note that writing anything to the card reduces the likelyhood of recovering the data

Tried this unsuccessfully but thanks for advising me.

Ditto for this. Funny thing is that when I put the memory stick duo in the camer I can view the pictures but not when I put it in the computer. Thanks as well.

See if there's an option on the camera to copy from the memory card to the camera's memory, then try transfer, even if it means copying a few at a time. OR, try different card readers on various pcs, maybe something corrupt on your machine. Also, Eur250 he wanted..? The f**king chancer
