Hi, I've just installed a FTA system. Is there any info on the channels that will be available apart from RTE 1,2 TV3 And TG4 when DTT is rolled out? I wonder will the FTA channels available via satellite be changed?

There is no connection between Satellite FTA and Irish DTT

At present only RTE1, RTE2, TV3 and TG4 will be on DTT.

An RTE 24 hours, Oireachtas channel and possibly 3e later.

Later still maybe 2 more RTE channels, which might be like education/children during day and something else in the evening sharing the same transmission space.

There is absolutely no timetable for DTT starting at all, and less of a timetable for extra channels.

Confirmed Channels - RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4, Houses of the Oireachtas Channel, Irish Film Channel.

All of these channels are named in the new Broadcasting Act and will be carried on the PSB Mux as required by the Act.

The Houses of the Oireachtas Channel and the Irish Film Channel will launch when funding becomes available.

The spare capacity on the Mux can be used by RTE to carry commercial channels such as 3e etc.
