Have bought a new Dell studio 15 Laptop, am having one problem though, from time to time with the zoom level. for example I will be changing boards on boards.ie and suddenly the zoom level increases or decreases.

Have been onto Dell tech support a couple of times who have just reinstalled stuff for me saying that it will fix the problem, for instance they did something with the touch pad hardware today, it hasn't worked, they are due to call me back on Monday and they are going to reset my laptop to factory settings, have a feeling this won't work. Any suggestions pls.

It could be the Vista magnifier utility (for visually impaired). You can access the settings in Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center

Or it could be the zoom utility in Internet Explorer (if that is the web browser you are using). If that is the case, you are probably zooming in by mistake by pressing ctrl at the same time as the scrollwheel (or the scrollbar on your touchpad). There should be a % zoom in the bottom right.

Both are very simple to fix/avoid. Even if it is not either of these, it can't be anything complicated, you definitely don't need to reformat to fix it. That would be madness tbh.
