    Hi,

I'm currently using a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro which I like but I'm now after something with 16 channels and four aux sends (or buses, why the two names?).

Any recommendations? Money is no object (it's only a 16 channel mixer I'm after anyway).

What are ya using it for? Like is it for the pre-amps going in or is it just for summing?

Mostly summing as it's all synths and drum machines with no mics. And I don't normally use stereo channels (except for aux effects returns).

I'll retract my "money is no object" statement. But if it wasn't I'd buy this:

If money is no objective you could look at getting 2 SSL X-Desks and chain them together. You don't get eq's or compression but the summing is amazing. Plus you can expand with an X-Rack with EQ or Dynamics modules and the rather lovely bus compressor.

    Give us ballpark figures Split.

How do you intend using the console ?

That SSL one looks nice but I'd want to have EQ on each channel.

Price range would be under 2000 Euro. I'd use it to mix synths and drum machines together, which I then record on my computer. I'd be using the EQ on each channel and also using the send/return channels for reverb and delay type effects.

i bought a behringer xenyx 2442 desk and i havent had any problems with it and i think its quite cool

its got the mackie xenyx preamps and british eq's etc so its really attractive..

just a suggestion tho, its a little TOO under your budget, but the quality is great

Explain your plan a bit more Split .... do you intend to send the stereo mix out to record? ... or individual chans?

There are some super desks to be had on the 2nd hand market if you can find one that has been well taken care of.
