Can anyone think of something for us to do this weekend?

Right im meeting up with my girlfriend tomorrow and i said we would do something nice but i can never think of anything to do(well, i can think of things to do but they generally revolve around one thing ;)). My mind desserts me when it comes to this kinda thing. Ill be collecting her in Clare and then heading on to Dublin so if anyone has any suggestions that would be nice. Something cheap/free is preferable since ive lost my job.

    Any ideas at all?

Yeah I'm in the same boat, I'm looking for something to do tomorrow evening in or around Dublin that doesn't involve drinking! Was going to go to the cinema but nothing worth watching that we haven't already seen.

Sit around an internet cafe in Dublin posting on After Hours about all the things you could be doing if you were in Galway, Cork, Waterford, Clare, hell anywhere except Dublin.

Do the thing you can think of for hours and hours, then get up and complain its too late to do anything nice.

If the weather stays nice, head to one of the parks with a lunch.... though if I were you I'd not go to Dublin at all for weekend with nice weather!

Go to Newgrange or Clonmacnoise on your way from the West up to "that place".

I would highly recommend the Bodies exhibit in the Ambassator. It was fasinating for me. €20 in but worth it. And it's only in Ireland for another few days I think.

Find a dark alley and violate her,

This is winner in two ways:

    1. You get to have your wicked way with as suggested in your first post

    2. Next months visit wll be called off thus you not having to come up with more ideas

Seriously though. You are in one of Europes most fun capitals. There are literally thousands of things to do. Plus you are driving from Clare to Dublin so are passing half the country. Why not stop off on a few locations on the way up.

Bring her to the Zoo , and show her what an animal u are.
If the weather is nice, its usually a good day out and a good laugh.
If u don't want to spend much bring a picnic.

Take her up to the big dome in Louth and go Ice-skating with her :) At night they make it into a disco on ice!

Though, we've omitted the "free" part from our contributions.

I'd recommend the 'Last Days of a Reluctant Tyrant' by Tom Murphy at the Abbey Theatre.

Tell her you have landed a new job as a mattress tester and she will have to perform all weekend with you, to give the mattress a good test of course.
