Rural Ireland doesnt Deserve Broadband!!

I used to work in network operations for a rural broadband provider about 2 years ago. I am now an IT manager with a Dublin based company & I will never look back. I am a strong advocate that broadband services should not be brought into rural Ireland until we cop on as a nation. The sheer level of ignorant bull**** which comes from people outside the major cities is unreal when it comes to technology.
I remember going into work & being screamed at because customers had virus's on their pc's from downloading porn, being screamed at because their computers were loaded down with a load of crap causing them to crash & stupid crap like that which has nothing to do with a person's ISP. I mean it is really no wonder why the technological divide exists in Ireland. Does anyone here work for in IT & can relate? I mean for all the complaints about ICE Broadband, Permanet, Last mile, callidus, Aptus....the list goes on you really have to ask how many of the complaints here are actually down to poor service on the ISP's side & not down to the sheer stupidity of your average thikko who doesnt understand contention or that he needs to do virus scans...BTW I am from just outside Gorey in wexford & our exchange was only enabled in the past year.
