    Hi There,
    Looking for some creative ideas??
I work for a charity called the Niall Mellon Township Trust and we are hold a running event called the Pilots Township Run organized by our very own Aer Lingus pilots. There is no entry involved but each runner will need to raise a minimum of €100 to run in the race. All money raised will go towards the Niall Mellon Township Trust. We are cuurnetly looking for runners to do a ten mile leg through their town anywhere from Giants Causeway to Mizen Head. Does anyone have any ideas on how we might recurit people for it?

    SUMMARY OF RUN

The proposed route per day is as follows:

Day 1 Giants Causeway - Belfast (Six Legs)
Day 2 Belast - Lisburn - Newry - Dundalk (Seven Legs)
Day 3 Dundalk - Drogheda - Dublin - Blessington (Seven Legs)
Day 4 Blessington - Carlow - Kilkenny (Seven Legs)
Day 5 Kilkenny - Clonmel - Fermoy (Six Legs)
Day 6 Fermoy - Cork - Clonakilty (Seven Legs)
Day 7 Clonakilty - Mizen Head (Five Legs)

Each leg will consist of a number of runners so each runner will only be doing a ten mile leg. Runners can select any of the legs on the route. There will be total of 45 legs to be completed over the course of the run.

    Hi there,

We normally take a really dim view of people signing up simply to advertise. In fact it is specifically against the T&Cs you agreed to in order to register for this site and should result in a site-wide ban. And this is your second attempt to promote this event (following your post in teh Links thread)

Because it's a not-for-profit and you have been careful in your phrasing I'll leave it up for now but please if you are going to use this Board then contribute as a user, don't just use it as an advertising platform. And if I / we get any complaints about this thread then it will be locked and deleted.

Check out AAI website for their map of athletics clubs locations. You might approach clubs close to your route or local sports partnerships/county boards in the counties you pass through for some local promotion.
