The roster are away next week so they taped next weeks spoilers last night. I think any doubt that people had that Punk is turning heel is erased. His promo sound's awesome.
"Report by Kevin K. and PWtorch.com

Smackdown TV taping for July 10 episode

    - They showed the end of the Hardy/Punk match at the Bash, and then Jeff came out to a huge pop with lots of little girls and kids going bonkers. He was sporting an eye patch when he came out. He cut a short promo about his eye injury being about as realistic as Punk's eye injury.

Kane beat Jeff Hardy in 7:00. Hardy began to comeback from the Kane beating when Punk's music hit and the Champ came out onto the stage. Hardy was distracted and was caught with a chokeslam.

Dolph Ziggler beat John Morrison in 8:00 in the surprise of the night (for me at least). Prior to the match, Morrison is shown backstage talking to Teddy Long about going kareoking with him in the future. Morrison reminded Long that he has challenged the winner of the Hardy-Punk match at Night of Champions for a title shot, which Long confirmed. Ziggler wins with a roll-up (pulling the tights) after a fantastic counter-sequence with Morrison. I think that Ziggler has some real, serious potential as a heel. People were all over him during his entrance and during the match. Morrison was pretty well liked by the crowd.

Melina & Eve Torres beat Women's champion Michelle McCool & Layla when Melina pinned Layla in about 5:00. Standard Divas tag match with a great pull-apart brawl between Melina and McCool at the end of the match, good heat for McCool in this segment. Lots of "Where's the Undertaker?" comments directed to McCool from my section.

Jeff Hardy comes out to commentate on the Punk-Khali match. Punk came out and gave the promo that many people have been waiting for from him. Here's my best recollection of it, said as Punk is in the ring looking at Hardy, who is sitting next to JR:

"Are you happy Jeff? You come out earlier wearing an eye patch mocking me? I could have been seriously injured because of you! You see this right here? This is Dyhydroxy Sulfate -- I have to put it in my eye three times a day. It's the only foreign substance I'll allow in my body. Now Jeff, I know you know a lot about prescription medication but, see, to get this legally you have to get it from a doctor. If you want to be like me, with your little eyepatch, instead of doing that, why don't you try living a clean lifestyle, a straight edge lifestyle? Jeff, you have two strikes, do you know how many I have? ZERO. Do you know how many times I've been suspended Jeff? ZERO. Do you know how many times I've been to a rehab facility in my life? ZERO. Do you know what your chances are for beating me at Night of Champions Jeff? ZERO"

World Hvt. champion C.M. Punk beat Khali by DQ when Kane interrupted with a chair and trades shots with Khali.

Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & D.H. Smith) beat Cryme Time (Shad Gaspar & JTG) in 6:00 with a Hart-Attack/Total Elimination hybrid-type move (Kidd with the sweep, Smith with the clothesline). Hart Dynasty had good heel heat, can't wait to watch their development on Smackdown.

IC champion Rey Mysterio beat Chris Jericho in 15:00. Rey Mysterio got an insane pop, louder than the one's I've heard for Cena and Austin during previous visits to Bakersfield. Mysterio was clearly the star of the show and the one that the majority of the crowd was there to see. Great things in this match like you would suspect with these two. Chris Jericho is the best at what he does. Edge and Ziggler attacked Mysterio after the match to massive, massive heat."

that does sound like a great smackdown, great to see the development of the hart dynasty and morrison gettin a push, teaming ziggler with rated y2j is a great move, get him over by association! and the punk promo we have all been waiting on! sounds great......and RAW is still the "flagship" show?! pull the other one!

    ZERO.

Looks good. Pity I have to wait till friday week.

Overall the tapings came at a bad time. WWE are just starting to get things together re new stars and the tapings take away a bit as the spoilers are out there for all to see. But the shows look better than okay so i will be watching anyway.

In particular smackdown looks very good. As said above Ziggler egtting involved with Rated Y2J will help him get over.

I like the way all wrestlers are getting a chance to win matches. I wouldn't expect dolph to go over Jo Mo so soon after Jo Mo went over Punk, it helps everyone when the show is competitive.

CM PUNK HAS ARRIVED. If this guy is given six months of TV time, as a heel, with a live mic in hand, I can guarantee this board will be licking his hole like theres no tomorrow. Soon the world is gonna know just how good this fella can be, like some of us have known since his ROH days.

Oh and Rey is my current shout for wrestler of the year, at least in WWE anyway.

WANTING to see a WWE show again that isnt one of the big 4?!

Dam.. feels like 2001/2002 again :)

I might try to start watching Smackdown. I've been noticing that it's been getting consistently good results in the F4WOnline weekly polls for well over a month now, but I never find the time to watch it

Yeah, it's not official until he tells them straight edge makes him better than them.

Bloody Smackdown being great once again. I want to complain about how bad the WWE is today and how everything was better in my day.

    All true.

But they have 4 stations. They should leave smackdown on sky sports 3 with no live sport before it.

suppose thats true, atleast they didnt just completley forget him, youve got Ziggler vs Morrison coming up so... quality match, tho i felt more like Ziggler was the face after badgering Maria and all :pac:

Watching it now, good so far. they seem to be letting jo mo get over as a face just by doing dives and somersaults. I guess it worked for rey.

Really find it odd to see Dolph doing do well when compared to what they had him do as a member of the RAW roster.

Maria must be going 'heel', don't know why wwe think anyone will care.

dont think anyone will but she may add to Zigglers character and get people to care more about him whilst they continue to not care about her but think how nice itd be to badger her.

Well I did laugh at pretty ricky unlike jesse. Here's punk! I must be a half hour behind.

EDIT: If punk keeps that up hardy is going to look like a fool if he ever gets on the stick again.

Agreed. My back is sore from all the bowing I have done for the last few years.

As good as punk was I still think the end of smackdown overshadowed him. Jericho Rey was fantastic and it was good to see a new guy standing tall at the end of the show.

Jericho Rey has been bloody fantastic. I've said it before but Rey is my dark horse for wrestler of the year. Hes been written off by everyone but has responded with some superb showings this year. One of the all-time greats IMO.

It really has been fantastic. Credit to jericho too. I think both guys are fantastic. Rey has amazing ability and is a natural in the ring. It is great to see him showcase it.

Jericho's charachter change was the best thing he ever did.

Both guys are going to play a massive part in the wwe the next few months, especially with edge now out of action along with taker and HBK.

Found the Rey/Jericho feud to be getting a bit stale in recent weeks myself but I seem to be the only one thinking that way. Loving Punk's heel turn, but it does amuse me that Hardy has been doing much more heel things yet is still the face. Don't get him but there you go. That's just me being overly critical though. I can't help it :o

Probably just using her for Ziggler to get over by treating her badly. If WWE allows such storylines anymore....
