I hear the Suir takes them although you dont get much off them!

    Try selling on adverts.ie
You will get more for it.

Spokes takes trade ins (depending on the bike, they won't take some unsellable beat up load of crap you bought in Halfords or Smyths I reckon), I am not sure about Altitude. Nor am I sure how much you will get...

Dont get those bargain bucket 400-500 euro jobbies, you may as well throw the money away. The real entry level is at around the 650+ mark (specialized allez for example). It might hurt up front but not nearly as much as realising that you have lumbered yourself with a liability a couple of months later.

With bikes its very much a case of buy cheap, buy twice. Also in general, the cheaper the bike, the less upgradeable.
