Connection from new macbook to monitor

What are my options for connecting a new Macbook Pro with Mini Displayport to a monitor?
The monitor has VGA, DVI-D and HDMI connections.
Looks like I have to purchase a Mini Displayport to VGA or DVI converter, and then a VGA or DVI cable.
Is there any other way? Seems quite expensive to do it this way - those converters cost €30!

Mini DisplayPort to HDMI - on eBay for €12 from the US and €16 from the UK.

    Cool - that's certainly a lot cheaper.
Would the quality be the same as DVI?

Can't see why it would not be the same - both DVI and HDMI are sending a digital signal anyway. I use the Apple mini-Displayport to DVI and then an HDMI adapter on that. Quality is the same whether connected via DVI directly or HDMI as far as I can tell...
